Miami - "Staycation" Pt. 2 - South Beach - Biscayne Bay
Vib'n on South Beach - A view of Biscayne Bay....
Hey travel fam what have you all been up to lately?! Honestly, we've been taking it reeeal easy these last few months. It's taken some time to readjust to the new way of life since COVID started.
Usually we're on the go and traveling to new destinations all over the world but no complaints here. We've been given such a great opportunity to explore the city we live in and let me tell you there's so much we've got to show you. If you've been a little stir crazy since this whole thing started you may want to check out attractions that have reopened in your area. We've been wanting to check out a few spots in Miami and there's no better time than now.
So that's what we've been up to! Staying safe as we can while exploring the surrounding area. Everyday is to be lived to the fullest and we don't have to wait until things are back to "normal". We can begin to recreate what normal is and find our stride inside this new normal. For us this looks like exploring areas right in our backyard and sharing it with you.
Right before the lock down started in Dade/Broward county we decided we wanted to turn up the heat by checking into one of the hottest hotels in Miami, the Mondrian Hotel. Known for its epic day parties, we were excited to check it out especially after cancelling a week long trip to Asia a week prior.
As soon as we got to the Hotel we checked in and got changed in our room. We had the best view overlooking the pool that sat right on Biscayne Bay..
The DJ was definitely setting the vibe of the party. Drinks were flowing and people were either in the pool or laid out on the day beds... it felt just how you think Miami would feel. Sunshine, good music, and South Floridian vibes... It reminded me of all the day parties we would go to during my Spring break days. Oh how I loooove this city!
Another thing I absolutely loved about this hotel was the food. I was so addicted to this coconut shrimp plate I had to order a second round lol.
After hanging at the pool for a few hours it was nice to grab a chilled Rose and have dinner by the bar.
After dinner we went back to our room and watched the sunset over Biscayne Bay. Ya'll this had to be one of the best sunset views I've seen in Miami...
We got dressed to go out on South Beach which was about a 5 minute Uber to Ocean Dr where the night would go on until 4 am in the morning.
The next day we checked out at 11am and hung out at the pool for a few hours recouping after the previous evening. We sipped frozen smoothies and cucumber/strawberry water that was available by the pool. While laying in a hammock and watching the boats pass by on the Bay I was in heaven...
Well guys thanks for stopping by! If you're travelling within the states, Miami is open - hotels, bars, restaurants, AND beaches. Of course stay safe guys and we'll catch you all in the next post. Let us know if you do check out the
